Walker White

A surface lure with a realistic profile and enticing motion, mimicking fleeing prey. Its zig-zag movement and internal ball bearings create added noise and vibration to attract aggressive strikes from surface-feeding predators.

How to fish it: Cast out and retrieve with the rod tip low, using a steady rhythm of short, sharp twitches on a slightly slack line. This makes the lure dart alternately from side to side across the surface — the classic ‘walk the dog’ action. Experiment with the speed and length of the twitches until you find what gets a response, and try pausing occasionally to tempt a following fish into striking.

Choosing your colour: The white pattern is a great all-round choice, particularly in clear water, bright conditions or when matching pale baitfish such as sandeels and small fry. Try the darker brown striped pattern in coloured or murkier water, lower light, or when you want a stronger silhouette. Look at what the fish are feeding on and match the hatch where possible.
